Following our home burning down we weren’t sure where to turn as far as rebuild goes. A friend recommended Alan. We walked away from our meeting with Alan feeling heard and with a way forward. Nothing was too much trouble and Alan, in a very empathetic way, explained the process and mapped out a way forward including demolition, rebuild and all the permits etc along the way.  We really appreciated his experience and willingness to listen and make things work for us.  We never intended to be planning a house however Alan’s experience was very appreciated as we worked through the upheaval of a house fire in the midst of the covid.

We first heard about the MaxBrown Home & Land centre through internet searches looking for land and house packages around the Lilydale area. We had looked at other house and land deals in the Lilydale area but they didn’t compare to the location of the Gateway Estate.


We decided to visit the Home & Land centre back in Jan 2020 – we were met by Alan Holmes, he answered all our questions about buying a house and land in Australia as it was a new experience for us.


Alan explained how everything can be tailored to our needs from changing the windows to moving a few rooms around from the original house designs. We made numerous changes to our house design and all were facilitated by Alan with ease.  Alan was extremely knowledgeable and explained things in a way we could understand. The whole process was an awesome experience from start to finish.


Alan was always on hand to help with any queries and tweaks to the house design. Alan’s experience showed throughout the whole experience from the day we walked into the house & land centre and even still to this day.  Alan’s level of service is top drawer and I would happily recommend Alan and the MaxBrown Home & Land Centre to others.


Alan has been a part of the development of the Gateway estate for many years, may he continue to do so and turn other families dreams of a new home into a reality.

I have known Alan for probably 23 years when we brought our first home on the Gateway Estate he was a great help to us then. More recently he guided me through the sale of that house and the purchase of my new home also in the Gateway. He was very very helpful, answered every question and as I was purchasing my home on my own I had a lot of questions, he very patiently helped me with the plans for my home and I am pleased to say I love my new home and enjoyed the whole experience.


He has been at the display homes since the Estate was established which is quite a feat and is well known throughout the Estate –  probably is a bit of an icon!


I have no hesitation in recommending Alan.
